Juneteenth Celebration at TODCO’s Mendelsohn House

Today, there was a wonderful Juneteenth celebration at Mendelsohn House. It was held in the courtyard under a shade canopy to protect everyone from the noon sun. The decorations were festive, in black, red, and green colors, and tables with sunflowers, balloons, and placemats that read JUNENTEETH!

As I captured the moments of this memorable event, I couldn't help but notice the dedication of our staff. They were organized and tirelessly ensured everyone had their meal tickets and was escorted to their seats. Their commitment to making this event a success was truly commendable. The residents heard great music and listened to how Juneteenth got its name. The food was traditional Southern comfort: greens, beans and rice, bar-b-q ribs, and cornbread muffins. The event was topped off with a refreshing serving of ice cream and a raffle for prizes and gift certificates.
